The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division.
Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

Taking the Raptiphobia flaw gives you a debuff when confronting the vicious creatures, but rewards you with an additional character perk immediately. This optional approach to the game helps you build the character you want while exploring Halcyon.
- Lead your companions: During your journey through the furthest colony, you will meet a host of characters who will want to your crew. Armed with unique abilities, these companions all have their own missions, motivations, and ideals. It’s up to you to help them achieve their goals, or turn them to your own ends.
- Explore the corporate colony: Halcyon is a colony at the edge of the galaxy owned and operated by a corporate board. They control everything… except for the alien monsters left behind when the terraforming of the colony’s two planets didn’t exactly go according to plan. Find your ship, build your crew, and explore the settlements, space stations, and other intriguing locations throughout Halcyon.

Why are all these CODEX updates of a few hundred MB EXTREMELY slow to install, regardless of whether its on HDD or SSD?
thats actually true, dont know the answer tho..
Just make sure you’re wearing your tinfoil hat, you will be fine.
Say what? Ican agree it took a while back when i still had an HDD. But on SSD it takes no more than a 2 minutes to install big updates.

This update is stupid. I can’t install it. The Outer Worlds takes up 37 GB on my computer. Since I have a lot of games, I only have 29 GB free. You would think that this update is 1-5 GB. No. When I try to install it, it says that I need almost 76 GB free to install it. But I only have 29 GB free. So what can I do? No thanks. I’ll just play the game as is.

This update has less than 300 MB unpacked, are you sure that you didn’t somehow the full ISO? If you torrented it, it was the base game not the update. Update is ed to DDlL hosts only to either with the browser or managers.
I’ll try not to be rude. I clicked on the Skidrow v1.1.1.0 update FileCrypt link. Which in turn gave me a lot of mirrors to from. I ed the 198.75 MB .rar from megaup.net. I extracted it, and the resulting folder was smaller than a GB. There was only one file to click in there. The setup file. The setup installer demanded that I have 75.5 GB of free space on my hard drive, even though the game itself is only 37 GB. I then went to the Y website, under CODEX, in The Outer Worlds and read some comments by other people claiming that the update is weird for demanding 75.5 GB free memory. Also, the base game is no where near 75.5 GB, so I don’t know what you are going on about.

Try running as or set it do turn as by default with shortcut settings.
Whats up with the required size for the update? 75GB? am updated the game and the final size is 55GB… is that normal?
why does this update require 75gb of free space if its only 200mb and the whole game is only 37gb?? :/
ok apparently you can just ignore the warning that tells you that you dont have enough free disk space. i just had 40gb free and it warned me that i dont have enough free space but i just clicked “ok” and the setup just continued to make the update and i think everything was successful.
In my case it’s impossible to update it. the update launcher returns the error:
