@george i had the exact same problem as you ! Trust me it is the same problem! You need to reinstall visual c . All of them both x64 and x86 ! I made this just for reply to you ! Try it and let me know . For me it worked !

I asked on a few forums, most people have the same problem. ERROR on startup. The majority are waiting for a CODEX crack fix… guess they are going to be dissapointed when they realize that apparently CODEX has no intention to release any.

Patch v1.68.154.1020 : can’t launch game
Only issue I ran into is virus scanner blocking crack from working. Added the sims folder to my virus exception and worked wine. Even the update patch worked. Codex keep it up thankyou

but following the method I gave yesterday, today I just played Sims for over an hour to create my characters,
and almost 3 hours of normal play, and everything works for me !
Yesterday I forgot to give my config : Simple laptop dating from 2014,
Packard Bell EasyNote TE69KB, DualCore AMD E1-2500 1400 MHz,
8 GB of Ram, Integrated video card AMD Radeon HD 8200 R3 Series 512 MB,
running with Windows 7 pro x64, in SATA-III non-ssd 500 GB hard drive

Will this work with legit version of the base game?
This update is working for me! If you have problems – just uninstall “The Sims 4” folder and install base game and then this update. I have just problem with Snowy escape expansion where the map is not showing, even if I have an expansion and I do not know how to fix it. I have tried to disable all mods and scripts, I have checked mod conflicts or installed TOOL Mod and nothing is working… I guess this is just problem on EA’s side.
Nop. The Codex release just doesnt work for many many people. I wish it was just me lmao, but after asking everywhere, yeah. Pretty much most people using the Codex release is unable to launch the game because of an error.
I was wondering, cant the Anadius repack be applied to previous Anadius releases? or it needs to be applied to the Codex one?
Tool mode is breaking the game. So if you are using this mode, you need to delete and update it. It is also imperative that you update all the mods. Good luck ♥
When the new FIX crack appears? Snowy Escape and this update (with rollback version) doesn’t work! Can’t launch the game, error a second after trying to start the game. 🙁
He is always great.. but i still have progblems.. i copied modes..updates and repaired my game via sims4-updaters.
The load screen opens after 3 hours and then plays for a while and crushes.
Well, i wanted to since first day but with all the comments saying that it was not working i only ed yesterday and it worked for me. I did it like i always do.
First i back up my game folder with my saves. then i uninstall the game. After that i installed the The Sims 4 Snowy Escape-CODEX with the “copy codex” thing checked, then i copied this update to the game installation folder, “yes” for replacing and it is working for me, so far no bugs (i played for like 4 hours, maybe more).
Eveytime it comes out a new version i see lots of comments complaining about bugs and it makes me hold to and install. And everytime when i say “hey, you know what? lets try it” it worked normally. if im lucky or not idk
ca’nt play in french language like previous version , someone can telle me why ? works fine in english but error in french .

I moved out all my mods, I updated and also repaired my game via sims4 updated.
Then I moved back my mods and tried not to have many subfolders.
And it works perfectly.
Is it possible for me to change the language of the game to brazilian portuguese, and if possible, how can I do that?
And also is it possible for me to install this pack with a steam bought copy of the game?
I’m having a huge problem. I run the setup, everything ends up finishing fine, but then when I try to run the game I get an error. It pops up saying that origin is not installed. I tried ing the no origin fix but still nothing. I’m going to try and instal the game again, and see what happens for now.
EDIT: I try installing again, but the just shuts off.

Codex has been doing a great job with Sims 4. They’ve been releasing major and minor updates for years. Now people/groups are dropping updates that either don’t work or have some lame installation scheme. They get their releases out faster than Codex so Codex doesn’t bother and we all suffer.

Okay, so I’ve ed the crack, installed the patch, language strings etc, and everything is working fine, BUT when I move my saves and try to play they make an issue for some DLCs – it removes some text (for example the name of Mt. Komorebi doesn’t appear – the rest is fine. Also missing DLC names on the main menu – Snowy Escape, Knitting and Batuu only says ‘owned’)
My previous version was Eco Living, so I’d say it may somehow use just the language strings from that version of the game (?)
Did anybody encountered the same problem? How did you fix it?
Okay, so the problem seems to appear only when I apply the mods.
Does anybody know if it’s some particular mod that may do this, or does this version of the game just not mods?

If there is no uninstaller, then just delete the game folder.
